Access
Each of reaching the cancellation location is scored on this scale:
1 - Very difficult, requires three or more forms of transportation (e.g., car, ferry & shuttle bus; plane, shuttle bus & mule)
2 - Difficult, requires two forms of transportation
3 - Hard, requires a substantial walk after arriving by car
2 - Easy, only accessible by car
1 - Can be accessed by public transportation*
*Note: "public transportation" includes any single use or combination of bus, train, shuttle service, taxi cab or subway services.
You should investigate the extent of the effort required to use public transportation thoroughly. Frequently, public transportation will terminate at a distance that will still require sizable walk to reach the visitor center, gift shop, bookstore or ranger station of interest.
Park Sign
The sign where the cancellation stamper and ink pad can be found. Note, this can be different than the sign for the park. In the example above, the stamper and ink pad are at the Arlington National Cemetery visitor (sign in the information box) but the sign for the George Washington Memorial Parkway different and is shown above the information box.
Cancellation
The cancellation image. Sometimes you will see the same images presented multiple times within an information box. This means that it can be found in multiple locations.
